Beautiful, Cat. I’m working on a piece about walking and memory. Would you mind if I referenced you in the post? Xx

Thank you so much Miranda! That means a lot. No of course I don't mind at all, please do, and let me know when you've posted it, I'd love to read it! Having spent an entire adulthood with someone who I now despise - and staying living in the same place - means that so many favourite spots are tainted with memory and association. I have often wished I could move away, but have found that allowing the memories to resurface, and then make new memories 'on top' serves me much better in the long run. xx

That’s such a good way of dealing with that history, Cat. I find walking, above almost anything, is when stuff I’ve not consciously thought about for years bubbles to the surface. Good and bad. I love the idea of reclaiming places and overlaying them with good stuff and new memories.

I’ll tag you in the post when it goes live. I’m hoping it’ll be this weekend but I’ll let you know. Xx

Yes, walking definitely helps things move through the body/mind, doesn't it? Reclaiming has definitely been a conscious effort - some things I'm happy to just leave behind, but others deserve a conscious drive to reclaim, and it certainly helps me feel more empowered in my choices and less at the whim of others. If that makes sense? I'll look forward to reading the post whenever it comes out :) xx
